Agnieszka Polkowska is a designer, curator, and educator with a Ph.D. and postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in design, both in the field of Fine Arts. Her work investigates dynamics within and between natural and cultural systems. She is particularly interested in system boundaries — both material and symbolic — and how they shape relationships between organisms, environments, and cultural practices. In site-specific projects, she explores processes in living and non-living realms in environmental contexts to inform sustainable and regenerative practices. She is the Dean of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, where she runs a speculative design studio blending research with experimental practice.  Agnieszka collaborates with academic and research institutions across Europe: Sustainability by Design at Folkwang University of the Arts, Technical University of Munich, Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, and Hiscia Research Institute.
