Agnieszka Polkowska is a designer, curator, and educator with a Ph.D. and postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in design, both in the field of Fine Arts. Her practice explores the thresholds of natural and cultural systems, where material and symbolic relations are continuously negotiated. Through site-specific projects, she works with living and non-living matter to reveal hidden connections between organisms, environments, materials, and cultural practices while reconfiguring established boundaries and opening space for more regenerative and reciprocal ways of relating. She is the Dean of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, where she runs a speculative design studio blending research with experimental practice. Agnieszka collaborates with academic and research institutions across Europe: Sustainability by Design at Folkwang University of the Arts, Technical University of Munich, Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, and Hiscia Research Institute.
