Agnieszka Polkowska is a designer, design curator, and educator with a Ph.D. in design. Her work investigates dynamics within and between natural and cultural systems. She is particularly interested in system boundaries — both material and symbolic — and how they shape relationships between organisms, environments, and cultural practices. In site-specific projects, she explores processes in living and non-living realms in environmental contexts to inform sustainable and regenerative practices. She is the Dean of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, where she runs a speculative design studio blending research with experimental practice across natural and cultural systems. Polkowska cooperates with such institutions and initiatives as the Sustainability by Design at Folkwang University of the Arts, Technical University of Munich, Institute of Industrial Design, Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, Łódź Design Festival, and Total Design Management studies at Warsaw University of Technology. She had the pleasure of working on R&D projects for such clients as Samsung, Ceramika Paradyż, Desa Unicum, Biżuteria YES, as well as many others. A member of Programme Boards of Gdynia Design Days and Design 32 competition.
